I am pleased to report that Elkmont Exchange has vastly improved since they opened.
Pros: Very interesting menu. Completely different than when I visited before. We had the fried green tomatoes for appetizer and then split the French dip and French fries. All was good. Loved the fried green tomatoes. They brew an number of lagers, that's right, LAGER! I tried the Golden Lager and 1 other. Can't remember it's name but both were good. $5.00 pints. Layne is a great waitress. She makes the experience fun. She seemed to enjoy serving us. Layne, you rock. The manager, Rose was delightful and took the time to talk to us about our experience. She pulled up a chair and sat with us. Cool! The interior design is simply stunning! A gorgeous mix of wood, stone and steel. Absolutely beautiful.
Cons: Slow service. We felt invisible when we came in. First, the hostess ignored us as she assumed we were going to sit at the bar. There was a sign to wait to be seated. We had to ask her what's up. Then she seated us and we waited and waited. Finally flagged down Layne and the whole experience turned around.
Great lagers, great food, great waitress. I shall return often. Well done making the necessary improvements. -

Service is very slow. Had several employees walk past us and saw managers chatting with each other while we sat and waited and waited and more waiting.
Beer menu is interesting. Food was excellent. -

One bartender had a huge attitude and ignored me after I ordered a vodka soda AND lager at the same time (oh, the horror!). She roundly ignored me the rest of the night. Luckily, Kirsten took really good care of me from that point forward. I understand the general point of the policy. I told if her if I cant have both at the same time that's okay, just trying to save some time. The vodka soda was really small and was consumed in about 5 gulps. The beer was pretty tasty. I tried the IPA and the lager and both were good. I got a sample of the Double IPA and it was way too malty and sweet, very cloying.
Not a bad place. Neighborhood is kind of rough but the establishment itself is pretty stellar. The food was okay. The fish and chips were a little greasy and the fries kind of soggy. After my initial encounter, service was great. -

Great atmosphere, beer selection, and food! This place is an awesome addition to the downtown area. I really enjoy the ambiance of this place and it's a great spot to hit up with friends or if you're meeting someone out for drinks and dinner. The food here is great too! I ordered the Mediterranean burger the other night and it was delicious. The bun was soft and the burger was juicy and full of flavor. My only complaint is that the burgers and sandwiches don't come with a side, so if you want to add fries it's an extra $3. Even with the additional $3 for a side, the prices are still fairly reasonable and you are guaranteed to have a good meal. The service is very friendly and I've had nothing but positive experiences here!

Great restaurant. We have a huge group and the waitress did an awesome job of coordinating our orders and separating our checks. The burgers were fabulous. I had two burgers and two cokes and the total bill was $40 bucks. A little pricey for Knoxville.
